You have it hooked up correctly.
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking so I'll give you several
possible
answers.

If you mean you can only see the 1.44mb drive as an 800k drive then
everythings normal. To use a 1.44mb drive as a 1.44mb drive you
need whats commonly called a SuperDrive controller card. The SmartPort
lacks the neccessary harware to 1.44mb drives so treats them as 800k
drives.

If you mean that you have no icons for the 3.5" drive then that's
normal.
The IIgs can tell when a floppy is inserted into a 3.5" drive and puts
an
icon for the disk itself on the desktop. The reason there are 5.25 drive

icons on the desktop is that 5.25" drives don't have a sensor telling
the
computer when a disk is inserted or removed. The 5.25 drive icon is
just a place to double-click to have the computer check that floppy
drive.

If you can use the5.25" and 800k but not the 1.44mb drive even as an
800k drive then you most likely have a hardware problem with the
1.44mb drive.

If you can't use either 3.5" drives then the most likely reasons would
be
if slot 5 is set to your card in the control panel or the AppleDisk3.5
driver
in the drivers fulder in your system folder is either turned off or
missing.
