On the IIe or IIc, one could use the apple keys instead of the
joystick buttons, which made all the events playable except for
shot put (#3, I think). It was still possible to play a nonathlon
on a joystick-less IIe by ctrl-resetting out of shot put, which
would advance you to the next event.
