Almost certainly yes.

There are three questions:

1. Is the SyQuest terminated internally?  If so, you shouldn't have
needed to add a terminator to get it to work with the original Apple
card.

2. Are you connecting more than one device?  If so, the furthest device
from the computer must be terminated (either internally or externally).
If you have multiple devices connected to an original Apple card, you
must ALSO terminate the first device (do not do this with the high-speed
card).

3. Do you have a device connected which is supplying power for the
terminators?  Either the SCSI card itself or at least one of the drives
must be doing this, or you will have unreliable operation.  I'm not sure
whether my SyQuest was supplying termination power (I always had another
drive connected which did this).
