The nice thing about the small LCD screen is that the //c becomes a very
compact unit (as opposed to a unit with a monitor). The screen adds only a
little height to the machine, which is flat in the first place. Very neat and
compact.
I keep my //c with LCD perched on a stereo speaker next to my 386. I use it to
transfer data to the 386 (and subsequently to the Pentium). I also use it to
verify disks which are mailed out to users. The UniDisk 3.5 is very sensitive,
and will catch disk errors that a IIGS will miss. If you are serious about
actual use - such as word processing - I would definitely add a real monitor to
the //c, since the LCD screen display is so hard to see, even with the plastic
cover removed.
This //c also has a 1 meg memory board, and everything is run from a Ram disk
using ProSel as menu and ram disk manager. This is the ideal setup for a //c.
