No. The only way to not have the Apple IIgs SYSTEM folder in the root
directory of the server's hard drive might be if you set up a folder on
the hard drive as a shared folder, and use that as the volume mounted by
the IIgs (instead of the entire hard drive). I don't know if the
AppleShare server will support this (particularly for Apple II boot
support).
