I've seen these on E-bay before. It seems that when the //GS came out
Apple made and upgrade kit that would fit in the //E. They are
reported to be fairly rare (not many people did the upgrade) and this
is the first one I've seen in a platinum type case (with the numeric
keypad)

If you were a collector and wanted one like this, it would probably be
pretty cool. Apple supplied the sticker for it in the kit.
