     The checks suggested by Wayne may clear things up. If they do not, the
Error $0027 may be a false indicator for a different problem-- that is, the
system load hits a snag and reports _an_ error; but, since things are screwed
up, it reports the wrong error.

     One possibility is that, with 1.2MB of RAM, you may not have enough
memory for the particular system disk you are trying to boot.

     Another possibility is that you are trying to boot a version of System
created before release of the ROM 3 IIgs. These versions of System do not
have the correct patches for a ROM 3.
