Re: System 6.0.2?

Hello,

BTW Joe, that wasn't a knock on you (or any one else) who's had their
beef with Dr. Tom. I was simply making on observation that some people
(like me) simply cannot see both sides 100% (unless we are Dr. Tom or a
software developer or business owner).

A quick example (a very true one):

Many years ago, a very good friend of mine told me she had a beef
against this other girl. She gave me details of what happened and
stuff. While I was sympathetic, I simply had a difficult time in seeing
where my friend was coming from. I knew the "other" girl and she had
never done anything to me as she had did to my friend. So it was
difficuly for me to summon the emotions that my friend had.

So, understand that some people may simply not be able to understand
what the fuss is all about. Dr. Tom may appear to be nice to some and to
people like Joe (who have been hurt before), he will always be a
villian. I doubt no amount of "fighting" will change the opinions of most
people.

Anyway, if Dr. Tom leaving will make some peace for the CSA2
community, then that is fine. But we should still stay together no matter
what happens.

BTW Joe, if you read this, you may be happy to hear you may gain a
customer for some of your stuff. With the intro of the LanceGS, I'm
thinking of trying to get an Apple II (E or GS) to run off of my new Pac
Bell DSL connection.

Since my IIe probably will not be able to do much, I'm thinking of
getting a IIGS used somewhere and getting it going. Problem is finding
one with ROM 3, decent memory and getting all the associated
hardware/software together. I'm trying to weigh the cost with the fun of
trying to do it. From what I've read, Marinetti doesn't handle
dynamically IP's too well. So, right now, I am running my DSL off of a
router so the IIGS setup wouldn't work. but if that problem can be fixed
up, it would be interesting to see a IIGS using DSL (imagine calling tech
support: "what OS do you use?", "a Apple IIGS!" :)

Hope everyone has a nice weekend,
Don
