Yes, but //e computers have the 80 col HARDWARE and FIRMWARE on the motherboard
and all that is required to have it function is some RAM in the Aux slot.

On an NTSC //e you can have a RAM card in the Aux slot and also have a card
in slot #3 (something that does not need the IOSEL/IOSTB ROM access signals
but does use the DEVSEL i/o select signal - for example a Stellation Mill
6809 co-processor card could have been used there). Unfortunately some bright
spark at Apple decided to put both slots inline on the PAL //e meaning that
only one can be used at a time. I have only seen one card that utilises this
dual slot arrangement, a 64KB 80 col card from Apple Australia with its own
RCA output socket on the back. It has a single gold finger that enters slot 3
and picks up -5V if I remember correctly.
