Interesting point. Why did the same company sell the same program on three
platforms, PC, Mac, IIGS, but only on the IIGS did they use such odious copy
protection? The only answer to that question that makes any sense, of course, is
that piracy was a much more serious threat on the II than on the other two
platforms. Of course, as you pointed out, the protection itself can help reduce
the marketplace, but then, the protection wouldn't be needed if piracy wasn't a
problem
