Re: An Appletalk Query

To All: Thank You for the input and...in a word: Drat. In two words:
Oh Drat. I am just learning this stuff guys and your input is most
welcome.

To Illustrate my point, here is a (poor) picture of the LC in
question. It is the Mac on top of the Compaq PC:

the Asante is the bottom blinky lights on the left.

David thanks. that explains it. Not that I like it. Yes I can access
stuff from
an HFS volume but, I didn't wanna have junk in two places. oh well...
I guess I need to do some movin.. I have a lot of stuff stashed there.

This does bring to mind another query: the ProDOS partition is of
course
seen by the Mac and appears on the desktop, but, when Appletalk loads
(remember this is version 3.0.3) it always pops an error: "XYZ volume
cannot be shared". any way to get it to then ignore the ProDOS
volume?

As to the question of ProDOS ethernet drivers, uh, no. I am using
Asante EN/SC Mac drivers (http://www.jmug.org/macdrivers/index.html if
you need them). When you bring up the "Slots" control panel on the IIe
card and select a Network card then reboot (In this config I will boot
from the network from a IIci Mac I also have on the "Network from
Heck" running 3.0.3) it actually re-directs the link across the
ethernet,
which in effect allows a IIe to access via an ethernet, hence my
previous remark.

If anyone is interested, I just got through re-arranging my "server
room" <--basement shop, in a more rational manner and took some small
pictures thereof:

Again folks. Thanks for the info.
-Bart
