All of the Brutal Deluxe software is copyrighted. All of the original
versions of the games they ported to the Apple IIGS are copyrighted.
As it is, copyrights are transferable.
I've had personal experience with transfers. After inCider/A+ folded, the
copyrights to all those articles I'd written for them were transfered to
their parent company...MacWorld. Knowing that MacWorld could care less
about Apple II articles, I ask MacWorld's attorney for those copyrights
to revert back to me. No problem.
Similar actions have happened with commercial software that's currently
available from Shareware Solutions II. Some of the copyrights have
reverted back to the program author (such as Burger Bill's Harmonie) and
in some cases, I have purchased the copyrights outright, as in the case
of Addressed For Success.
Speaking of copyrights going from one company to another, I'll be
dropping an Apple IIGS bombshell in the next couple of days ;-)
Check http://users.foxvalley.net/~joko in a few days to see what that
bombshell might possibly be.
