MacOS will add a resource fork when writing to a ProDOS disk if the
creator ISN'T pdos.  If it is pdos, then it's just supposed to write
the file as it is on the HFS disk.  If it has a resource fork, it'll
copy it, if it doesn't, then it won't add on.
 
I can't recall ever having any problems with this using ProType (V1.1)
to write to a floppy or hard drive.  With Appletalk though, this becomes
a non-issue if there isn't already a resource fork on the file.  GS/OS
won't ever add a resource fork to a standard file.

Although, I never deal with this too much anymore.  These days when
I'm doing Apple II stuff, it's under emulation on my PowerMac.
