I managed to pick two nice old drives at a national Apple meeting here
in the Netherlands.
One is Apple's 5.25 inch "PC" drive for the Mac. Luckily, I found the
NuBUS controller card for this as well, and it even
works.
The other one is a IIc external 5.25 inch disk drive (model A2M4050).
Works as well.
I only have an old un-upgraded IIc though ("ROM OO") beside the IIgs.
It would be nice to use this drive on other IIs or Macs, since I have
some Apple 3.5 inch daisy-chainable drives which
work on the IIgs and the Mac.
The IIc drive can plug into the back of these, but will I be able to use
them in some way? Or are these things ONLY usable
on a IIc?
Regards, Ruud
PS. Also, would it be possible to use MS-DOS formatted media with these
drives in some way? Are there AII programs to do so?
It would be handy to be able to convert DOS/A2 software from 5.25 to
3.5, sometimes.
