Actually, Apple did release a read-only MSDOS FST with system 6.01. Of
course,
it doesn't particularly like Windows 95 disks with their long filenames.

MUG! (MSDOS Utilities Graphical !nterface) is a IIgs NDA which allows you
to read, write and format MSDOS disks. It does require that you have some
sort of
hardware that can access MSDOS-formatted disks. For example, Apple's
SuperDrive
and Controller card, or a SCSI card with a Zip or SyQuest drive, or a
PC-Transporter
with a 5.25" diskette drive.
