Just a guess, maybe your 3.5" floppy drive is the problem. First, check the
connection, and try disconnecting the 5.25" drive. If you have another 3.5"
drive, try that. If you have boot disks in 5.25" format, try that.  If you
have a Mac with a floppy port, you could try connecting your 3.5" drive and
see if you are able to read and format disks with it.
