I have a WD93044-A that I scrounged from a 286 which works great. I also
tried a 120 meg drive, as I recall. The Vulcan software formatted it, but it
didn't work. I seem to recall that it didn't see the full capacity of the
drive, too. You might just try some drives in the 40-100 meg range.  The
WD93044-A has a cache, so it uses a 1:1 interleave, and is faster than the
similiar drive that came with my Vulcan.

I use both SCSI and Vulcan drives with my IIgs's, and really like the
Vulcans. I like the fact it's internal, has a more powerful powersupply, and
has a cooling fan. Of course the name and the black color are pretty cool
too! Speedwise, I don't notice any difference, though I haven't measured it.
