Thanks. Starting at a random point, without trying to locate a presumed
inter-sector gap?
I am not sure $1A00 will give enough sector overlap to guarantee a fully
readable track in case of a slightly below-standard-speed recording.
Besides, I suppose it can't do anything in case of a single track-long
sector: that would require reading the whole track at least twice.
