Ernest,
Shooting for having it work on the IIe. It looks as if the card will
have a 7mhz 65816 coprocessor, 32k sram, and 128k of flash eprom. Enough of
a protocol stack will be coded, so that the apple doesn't have to bare the
brunt of all that work. Personally, I wonder if we can get the thing working
in a ][. I'm not the hardware expert, so I can't say for certain though.
What I can tell you, though...
I'm fairly decent with tcp/ip code, and I'm doing my best to learn asm
for the 6502 and 816. Even starting to pick up some about the a2 'api', and
I'm fairly confident that I will be able to write (or port from gnu apps, as
the case may be) not only an email client/newsgroup reader, but even a
decent text web browser. I'm pretty familiar with http, and html is
generally pretty decent to parse. So don't even give up on the web searches,
ok? However, you may have to wait awhile before I start coding the flash
plugin ;)
As it stands now, if you want to pre-order a kit, and you only have a
IIe to put it in, that would give us more incentive to make sure it works
for yours. Just let me know. (Projected price of ~$45)
Thanks,
