Willie,
We'll do better than that promise. Definite plans to do Marinetti
drivers ( would it be worth anything at all if we didn't?) and sounds like
some people want it to be able to do Appletalk native, for booting over a
network etc. Also, there just may be reason to implement a lower level tcp
stack directly on the card, but I can't say anything about that really. I
have considered the feasability of writing a IPX stack for it, on my own,
for no other reason than to be able to say that I've done something like
that.
Our design will also allow for a choice of 10baseT (rj45), db9 (for
which there are rj45 adaptors), and possibly AUI. Gotta look into whether we
can do that last one. If there were interest in Thinnet, even that is
doable, and quite possibly without even altering the board. Gotta love how
apple moved the jack off the board via a ribbon cable, it opens up so many
possibilities. The thing I want to most though, more than anything else, is
find a cheap 10baseFX transciever, a small one, and fit it inside the
case... it would be a complete cheat of course, but just the thought of a
fiber jack in the back of an apple2 is too much to resist.
I may not be much for a2 programming, but I am fairly capable of network
software on other platforms, as I practice and get up to speed on the apple,
look forward to quite a few more marinetti apps.

Oh, and did I forget to mention, that the plans to build one of these will
be free, should you choose to make one on your own?
