Re: vogons vs Users

Hiya, Bob.

At risk of bloating your ego, I'll agree that I share this
opinion with "anti-pirates".

The point is, you ignore the alternatives of freeware/
shareware programs available that fulfill darn near every
need as it is. But then, Asimov wasn't really packed with
life saving programs that every Apple II user NEEDS. It was
mostly games.

Sort of lame claiming that you should be free to steal those
because they fulfill some important need.

You may not have noticed, but I address most every point in
every post I respond to. Do feel free to call me on any
errors I make. I certainly will on yours.

I keep hearing about this "need", and how "useful" stealing
software is to the
Apple II user. Judging from the contents of most ftp pirate
sites, it's games. Deny it or shrug it off if you will, but
the fact remains that for all your whining, you just want
something to play with.

No, you're mistaken, Bob. It's NOT. Try it. Asimov has
been down for months. You don't have to take my word for it.
Try it. Why don't I think I'll get an apology from you?

*>So you say "ITS NOT OK TO PIRATE, BUT LINKING TO PIRATE

No I DON'T say, Bob. Putting words in my mouth may please
others of your ilk, but it's just another one of your
fabrications. I assure you, my ROM copy is from my GS. So.
Wanna think up some more lies in the meantime?

You build straw men faster than anyone I know. Furthermore,

OK. You throw these quotes around like an incoherent
Dorktor, so it's difficult to follow your point.

Sigh.. That IS the law, Bob.

You're painting a lot of folks with a very big brush here,
Bob. You jump on F.E. Systems for their link, and suddenly,
without evidence or anything, you've pulled everyone else who
disagrees with you into the fray. Dishonest, Bob.

You're welcome. I've know dense people like you all my life,
and sometimes you just have to keep repeating the facts to
them until something clicks. ;)

I suppose. I'm not familiar with which messages you're
referring to, but I'll give Deja a shot. Sorry if I don't
trust you, but you've lied before.

The Dorktor has been a thorn in the sides of Apple II
developers for years. Sure, my battle is with him. His main
claim to infamy is his piracy. So addressing piracy and
slinging arrows at him are synonymous.

As for you and the other Turlettes, "If you lie down with
dogs, you'll get up with fleas."

If you want to be cheerleaders for Tom, expect opposition.
Just deal with it, OK?

*>You have logic just as twisted as "ruby", "tom", and the

Yeah, and us vogons have posted the URL to the .pdf file that
contains the Copyright Act. That trumped their "logic".
Read it and weep, Bob.

*>You think pirating ROMS is OK. Piracy is Piracy.

Heh... You've stripped a few gears here, Bob. Go back in the
thread and read where I agreed that downloading ROMs is
illegal. Putting these words in my mouth is simply another
lie on your part. (it's that rolled up newspaper)

*>> *>Downloading copyrighted software AND ROM images is

Yes.

No. Heh he ;)

*>The light was never off. I feel so much better now that
Quantum_crap says
*>'cool!' in reply to my post. I've gained the approval of
a pussy

Well, it was a hard decision on my part, but I'm trying to
prevent you from becoming a bigger asshole. ;)

*>(insert "no, you don't have my approval" from quantum.crap
here)

Hmmm?

*>You refer to yourself as a vogon. Thats a funny name!
Little straw man, I
*>don't know where you got that from. I'm not pounding on
anybody. You
*>'vogons' (since you admit you are in a group called the
vogons) think it's
*>okay to pirate ROMS but nothing else. this is a load of
crap.

Ah.. There's Bob's Big Brush again. The straw man you've
built is this "vogons think it's okay to pirate ROMS"....
Figment, or fabrication on your part. Why don't you present
some evidence to back up your fib, Bob?

*>I don't hope your cringe. You should just leave. Your
battle is against 2
*>people. Rubywand and Mr. Turley. Why don't you take the
battle up in
 *>email?

Because then I'm miss the rest of you Turlettes. ;)

*>> Copying ROMS from machines you don't own is illegal.
But to
*>> equate a one time download with the blatant and
unrepentant

*>If you kill one person, it's AOK.

And how does that follow in your twisted little logic? I
thought we were in agreement that the act of copying ROMS you
didn't own was illegal.

Now you set up yet another straw man the misrepresents my
position. I'm losing patience with you, Bob. You're simply
spewing lie after lie. Repent! ;)

To set your derailed mind back on track, it's NOT "AOK".
It's BAD!

*>If you go on a murderous rampage and kill 5 people, BAD!
BAD!

Yep.

*>hah ha ahh hah . YOu are funny! Your lack of following
your own
 *>preaching is funny.

Hmmm... You DID finish school, didn't you, Bob? You
certainly missed every point I've made. If your entire
argument is going to consist of putting words in my mouth,
then claiming victory, folks will recognise you for a dolt.

*>It's okay to molest one child, but if you do it to more
than one, your are a
*>child molester. your logic is twisted

Stringing even MORE false analogies into a post adds nothing
to the truth of the argument between us, Bob.

Please use your head for something more than a plaything for
your rectum, OK?

*>> distribution of hundreds of megs of commercial software
is
*>> quite a long stretch. But you Turlettes have lots of
*>> practice stretching the truth. ;)

*>I'm not taking sides here. I am saying both the Vogons
and the Turlettes
 *>are pirates.

Well, I know that's what you claim. I don't recall anyone
else using the term vogon to describe themselves but me, and
you haven't presented any evidence that the Bernie guys
regard themselves as such, or that any other vogons are
indeed pirates. Given your current record, I'd bet you're
lying.

*>Both the Vogons and the Turlettes need to leave, and we
can
*>sell our Apple II's to people to use as doorstops.

How convenient of you to forget the hundreds of megabytes of
freeware/shareware that make our Apple II's fun. You're
argument is falling apart here, Bob.

*>vogons pirate roms turlettes pirate software

*>It's okay to pirate roms, but not software.

Bald assertions and lies. Typical Turlette.

*>If we had a group of people in the a2 community that
designed hardware and
*>programmed the ROMS for the apple II, then you vogons
wouldn't be getting
 *>much hardware.

Uh... You really didn't give that last sentence much
thought, did you, Bob. ;)

*>They'd all call you ROM pirates (which you are) and you
*>wouldn't get new stuff when it came out.

Repeating a lie doesn't make it any more true, Bob. ;)

*>Same way the 'vogons' create software and don't let csa2
readers get it.

Hmmm.... I'd guess this is just some kind of Red Herring,
but I don't think I'll chase it. Not a very good conclusion
to your argument, Bob.
