Don't feel so bad, Apple have run a long campaign to make us all feel
like a goose trying to get their various covers off. They started
early with the Mac ... the first Macs required tutorials on 'cracking
open the case' with torx screwdrivers etc.
Haven't used the 6200, but if it's anything like the 7000 series, the
first time you try is harrowing as you think you're breaking the side
fasteners. Also look under the front for hidden 'push-in' buttons,
which you depress, then slide-forward/lift the case off.

The RAM should work, they both use 72-pin 80ns simms.
Beware with some 72-pin simm Macs - it's death to use 72-pin EDO RAM.
Good idea to get a (free) copy of GURU (GUide to Ram Upgrades) from:
http://newerram.com
and check its model database before sticking any RAM into older Macs.
