You didn't answer his quite logical question:

So if you have gotten "an OK from the owner" to pirate -er- copy the ROM,
why not offer it as a direct download from your site?

Rubywand's point is valid: when it comes to copying old software with no
commercial value, who cares? No one but the vogons.  And just out of
curiosity, who at Apple gave you this permission, a janitor?
