I think one of the audio equipment companies should design a "Cassette
to CD adaptor".

They have the CD to Cassette adaptor, the cassette with a 'write head'
in it with a wire  coming out that ends in a 1/8 phono jack.  Insert
the cassette, press play on the deck, and plug the jack into your CD
player and press play.

Now we need a CD with a similar setup.  Write head, cable, phono jack,
so we can downgrade our audio technology and listen to CD's.

Maybe that wouldn't work :)

Adding the Apple II subject back into the thread, it'd be cool to use a
CD burner program to burn a whole bunch of programs (which have been
converted to WAV files, the same format as a Cassette SAVE command
does) onto an audio CD, and plug it into the CASSETTE IN port on the
back of a II+.  "I have a CDROM connected to my II+!"....kinda
