Re: Ancient wares and present values
Hey, that's a pretty reasonable stance. Or at least a step in the right
direction. Truly though, even heirs shouldn't have these rights though...
As for your votes not counting, well it only goes to figure. Can't really
blame you, but if so, who do I blame then? If our votes mean unreasonable
legislation 99% of the time, and there is no other legal avenue... is it
then so unethical to just ignore those laws which are stupid?
On another note, you really ought to read up on the Metallica/MP3 thing.
They do one hell of a job making up bullshit excuses for publishers...
basically, if you accept that a person should have copyrights, then a
corporation should have them too... which is where these problems start. But
really, you must wonder why in the history of civilization, why the first
time that copies of things of worth are nearly effortless, then making these
copies is a felony. Maybe the masses aren't allowed to have things of worth?
Mark my words, no matter how rabid a intellectual property advocate you are,
this is going to come back and bite you in the ass. Time and time again,
giant corps have done the legal maneuvering making the little guy's
patents/copyrights worthless, and since no one here is a CEO, copyrights are
doing you no favor.
