The burden of proff isn't upon Jeff. Anyone who has a copy can see a copyright
notice, and that lasts for 75 years after the author's death (normally.) The burden
of proof is upon those who would claim that it is ok to post it on a ftp/http site.

The program is still sold on the Windoze platform. I find it a bit hard to believe
that it would be released (but not totally - WordPerfect for the Mac is a free
download.)
