We have no official rules about anything.
The TEXAS II patch does allow UltraMacros with AppleTalk. It is in fact the
same patch that you gave, except it is for AppleWorks 5.1 (a different
location).
The IIGS persnickitiness can be overcome by booting from ProSel 16. If you do
not want to boot from a ProSel menu, you can configure ProSel-16 to run
invisibly and automatically launch AppleWorks 5. The reason this patch was
created was so that ProSel-16 users could have AppleTalk and UltraMacros too.
The RFP AppleTalk patch does not work, according to most users.
Nathan's concerns had to do with GS interrupts, not AppleTalk. It is a
different issue entirely. Don't confuse the IIGS startup issues with AppleTalk.
AppleTalk is not the cause of startup problems.
