Just in case you have Quantum_Cat filtered and missed his post, here
is where you can find out the duration of a copyright:

     http://www.loc.gov/copyright/title17/

Check out Chapter 3 for duration information.  It seems that they
exist for the life of the author + 70 years, 95 years from the year of
publication or 120 years from the year of creation depending on
several factors.
