No, they probably didn't. I don't remember what the prices were for any of the
version of AW (I admit I never had to pay for it), but I do agree QC's prices
were extraordinarily high. I believe the sales that Jeff referred to had to be
for the brand new user package for people who never owned it before. When it
finally went down to $99, it was still too high. However, few people actually
paid that.
During the past week of writing the TEXAS II newsletter, I went back to
AppleWorks for an extensive time. I still am amazed at the wonderful power it
has, especially if you use macros and other add-ons. Sadly, macro programming
has become a lost art. Although, a fine examle of it is about to become
freeware. (Details in the newsletter.) Nothing that has been released to date
comes close to this.
