Re: SCSI help for GS

You have an 80mb HD almost surely from out of a Mac.
To format it go into the RamFast utilities or what you're calling the
RamFAST BIOS
at the top of your screen, click on the one called "ScsiUtils"
With a Mac 80mb drive you'll likely see 2 partitions there. However
you're going to likely want 3 ProDOS partitions.

Cick on the volume size of your largest partition, then on the left
you'll
see a couple of bars with arrows for adjusting size. Click on the left
one
to lower the size down to 32768k ( Top arrows are 1mb increments, bottom
32k). Then move to the smaller partition and adjust it up to 32768k.
Then move your pointer to the top left corner of the screen and click on
"Add"
A new partition will show up so increase the size of that to as large as
you can..( you can make the partitions as large or small as you want as
long as you don't exceed 32768k for ProDOS)
Then click on "Quit"
It'll ask if you want to change the partitions - click on yes
It'll ask if you really want to partition - click on Ok
After it's done partitioning,(about 15 sec) It'll take you back to the
origional menu

At this point you'll have 3 GS/OS volumes on the right. If they aren't
all
mapped to slots on the left, simply click on the volume then click on a
slot.
(S4 is a good place for the third partition). Make sure you don't remove
the volume from S7, Drive 1 as that's your boot Partition.

Now just click on "Quite" then in the next menu, click on "Boot"
At this piont you'll have a sort of wierd screen, that's because there's
nothing on you boot partition. So do a Control-Reset to get to a prompt.
Place a floppy such as a system Installer in your 3.5" drive and type in
PR#5 <return>
Once you have system software on your boot partrition you'll be able to
boot off the hard drive.

Once you've booted off system software you'll find a ROMdisk that
contains a
RamFAST driver and a RamFAST utilities program on your desktop. Copy the
RamFAST driver over to your Drivers folder and copy the utilities program
to
your HD. Then use that program to go into the Ramfast Utilities. Once
there
click on "Options" and change the setting for ROMdisk to NO. Then click
on
Quit to exit

Hope I explained this undestandably enough. If any part isn'y clear let
me know
and I'll go into mor detail.
