Since you've got ADT going you are most of the way toward being able to
transfer .shk, sdk, and other kinds of non- disk image files.

Go to Disks in Ground's Useful Stuff folder at
ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/apple2/useful.stuff/Disks/ . What you want is a
standard Apple II telecom program. You can get a good one by downloading the
Agate.dsk disk image and transferring it to your //e.

There are one or two more telecom programs in the Disks folder; but,
Agate supports Z-modem and is the best choice for a user with a 128k //e or
bigger Apple II.

If you do not already have ShrinkIt (for unshrinking .shk and .sdk
files), download and transfer the PDShrinkIts.dsk disk image. (Actually, every
disk image in the Disks folder is worth having.)

In order to transfer .shk files you just need to set up Agate to match
the baud rate, format (like 8-N-1), and protocol (like Z-modem) used on the PC
telecom program (which will usually be HyperTerm for Win95 users). You should
be able to transfer files using the same NULL modem connection used for ADT.

Let us know how the file transfers work out.
