You are right, after they see the product perform, they
might change their minds. Unfortunately, the people
in charge in some companies won't even go that far.
In my company, the people in charge would rather have
75Mhz Intel powered computers than non-Intel ones.
I've looked at many of our computers and they do
support the voltage requirements of a K6-2. So for $50
per computer, they could have each unit running at
400Mhz (and our computers need it as they are SLOW).
But the people in charge only know Intel.
This is a changing, though, as AMD gets more popular
thanks to proven successes.
