Re: II+ shipped with a II lid?

A few years back I picked up a Rev 7 Apple II. Has the Apple II lid
and serial number is A2S1-75607. Motherboard date is 8046. Has
Applesoft ROMs but that's an expected upgrade.

My oldest II+ is a Rev 4 made in 8008 with a serial # A2S2-67988 and
of course a II+ lid

On an amusing note a couple of years ago I saw a Craigslist ad for an
original Apple II. Well the badge on the lid was an Apple II badge but
I could see that the keyboard wasn't. When I opened it I found an
early Apple power supply with the cable modified to fit a clone
motherboard. Only Apple parts were the badge and power supply. I was a
bit disappointed but I have a spare badge now and a good source of
parts.
