If that is 512K on the RAM card in a ROM 1 IIgs then that is only
adequate for very early programs and operating systems as that will
only total 768K.

For System 6.0.1 I recommend 2 MB minimum (you can't get away with
much less than that anyways) but 4-8 MB is much nicer and allows you
to do more without worrying about running out of memory.

By the way, if your current memory card has some empty sockets in it,
you can probably get yourself up to just over 1 MB by filling those
sockets. This would allow you to use a fair number of programs and
versions of the operating system up to System 5.0.4 (although you
won't be able to do a lot with only 1 MB).

As for recommendations for a better RAM card, you can check out
Alltech Electronics for their Sirius RAM card that can be purchased
with 2, 4 or 8 MB of RAM installed. If you get it with 2 or 4 MB then
you can upgrade the card yourself later just by buying more RAM.

Yes, it is very much like a Mac OS shift boot.

Ah. I wasn't sure from your last message whether the error message
changed or not. The error changed because your machine is no longer
trying to load extensions so it didn't run out of memory trying to
load EasyMount but is running out of memory while trying to load the
Finder.
