I believe the confusion is with the 'Limited Edition: Woz' Apple IIGS
which was introduced September 1986. As it happens, that was roughly
the 10th anniversary of the Apple 1 computer (of which the IIGS is a
direct descendant) and of course the Apple Computer Company. Both
came to be on April 1976.

If you mailed away a card, you received a certificate of authenticity
and letter from Steve Wozinak. In that letter, Woz mentions the 10th
anniversary of the Apple II's development no less than five times!

So it was a 10th anniversary edition commemorating the Apple II
and (although not directly stated) Apple Computer itself.

Probably not worth any more than a regular Apple IIGS. If however
it was in perfect condition (i.e. no yellowing) and came with the original
two documents mentioned above, it might grab the attention of some
collectors out there. Though monetarily speaking, still not that much.

It's worth pointing out the only difference between a "Woz" GS
and the regular GS is the top case lid. And with 50,000 of them
put in circulation, they're not considered rare. I put a Woz lid on
my ROM 3. Still not as cool as the personalized autograph my
brother got for me when he met Steve Wozinak in Montreal last
year! I have it on my coffee table, it reads:

"To Mitchell - Apple ][ Forever: Woz" :-)
