This forum is for classic Apple Computers known as the Apple ][, IIgs and
//c (And other 6502 based Apple Computers)
Also a publishing forum may also be of assistance since they deal with Macs
and scanners all the time.
As far as Apple ditching SCSI, the problem is that SCSI is getting obsolete
since USB, Firewire and EIDE standards are making it easier to plug in a
peripheral. With PCs also using these standards, it just makes the price
much more affordable for stuff.
Compared the price of a SCSI-2 to UDMA drive lately?
Can't vouch for Scitex drivers. Maybe you should send an e-mail to their
tech support to voice your displeasure.
Burger
