Then why does Alltech bother with Focus drives and Sirius cards?
The Sirius is Alltech designed (by Tony Diaz) remember? Why
do car hobby places sell fiberglass body panels for the old type
of Volkswagen Beetle when these cars can be found for dumpster
prices? Why does CMD sell the SuperCPU 20Mhz accelerators
for the C64 and C128? You can find Commodores in dumpsters
too.

Why is that?

There IS such a thing as a niche market and there IS such a thing
as a hobbyist who would be interested in buying products for a
classic.

As hard as it is for "I want to jump on the newest bestest
bandwagen" types to understand, you can have your new machine
and still love the old. And I'm not just saying keeping the old one
around. I'm saying equipping and using the old one.
