Actually, I don't think it is expensive. My problem was that I was
barely making enough money to pay my bills so what little left over
cash I had went to other forms of entertaiment and such so I never had
the cash to go to KFest. Then there is the fact that I live in Canada
and the exchange rate between US and Canadian dollars makes a big
difference in the cost of going.

In fact, if you break it down, it seems to be downright reasonable to
me. You are getting four nights accomodations, 10 meals (starting
Wednesday evening to Sunday morning skipping Saturday evening) and get
to attend three days of sessions and spend the rest of the time with
Apple II fanatics. I'm not sure what hotel and restaurant costs are
like in the US but even at $25/night for accomodations (which is what
is being charged to stay in the dorm on Tuesday night if you want to
arrive early) and $5/meal that equals $150 right there. Then there is
the sessions cost and adminstrative costs and such.

As far as I know, no one is banned from attending but there are a few
individuals that have been discouraged from attending because of the
problems that would arise from their presence there.
