You can do this with slot 2 (use a card and keep the modem
port) but it will not work with any other slot except slot 4 on
a ROM 3 (which you have).

The exception is if you have a card that does not require the
control panel be set to your card.  IIGS specific cards such
as the Visionary/Vision Plus Enhanced frame grabber, IIGS
sound cards, and accelerator cards do not require control
panel to be set to 'Your Card' can work in slot 5/slot 6 with
no effect on your drives.

In this case, I suggest you put the Grappler into slot 2 and
put your modem on the printer port.

Theoretically, you should be able to use Printer and the
Grappler in slot 1, but I do not know of any software that can
currently support this.  The modem port is different not due
to any hardware differences but because software support
of using both slot 2 and the serial port is widely implemented.
