himself (not just an April fool - but a total fool.)  This rambling mass of
misinformation - from Bill Heineman???   What on Earth is all this junk thread
anyway?  Some effort at a new IIgs roll playing fantasy/adventure game?

Never before in my life have I met such a self-serving individual as Charles
Turley. He has a unique talent of being able to bend and twist the truth to
be able to somehow make himself look like he's doing people favors. In
reality, he hurts people to benefit his own ego. Making a public post saying
that he will give someone access to a commercial product (Orca/C) is the
exact same thing as walking into a theatre and yelling "Fire!". You can make
any statement you want. But you have to live with the consequences. You have
to tell it to the judge. Charles Turley does not care about the
consequences. He lives on disability, he doesn't have a job so he doesn't
really need to answer to anything except to his own twisted logic. When I
first got a call from Charles Turley many years ago, he seemed like a well
educated, well bred individual who was just having a slight bump in his
life. He claimed he couldn't get a subscription to GS+ magazine because he
was short of money that month so I even offered to help him get a free
subscription. (The subscription was never followed through).

I am a very helpful person and try my best to make things better for
everyone. When Charles Turley told me about his group, the "One World
Software Wizards", I was intrigued. Several phone calls later, it was
apparent, that there was something wrong with his plan and the statements he
made. Claiming he had written a sound tracker yet he couldn't answer a
simple programming question, his "Psycho-Acoustic" mod files and many other
things just didn't add up. So I made notes about his plan for the "One World
Software Wizards" and found that he had a glaring flaw in his logic. He
wanted to form a group that would make a word processor, spreadsheet,
database and graphic programs for the IIgs so that it would fill the hole
left by AppleWorks GS being no longer supported. He wanted the software to
be given away for free! Well maybe for Microsoft where they have billions of
dollars and a clear cut picture of what they will gain from their free
software, Charles Turley had no answer other than "Write the software for
free for the IIgs community".

I have a family. I have kids. I have a mortgage. How can I spend full-time,
50-60 hours a week, writing a word processor for the IIgs and feed my
family? Charles Turley said to me "Go on disability like me! You can then
spend full time on these projects!".  I could not believe my ears. I was
raised to never be a burden to society, but that is what Charles Turley
wanted me to be. I then told Charles Turley on our next phone conversation
that I did not want to be a part of his group. He was saddened and we parted
ways.

Then my nightmare began.

I was getting calls, e-mails and visits from friends who were in the Apple
II world at the time. They told me about a man names Dr. Tom who said I was
a leading member of the One World Software Wizards. I told my friends, I was
offered a position, but I turned it down. It appears that Dr. Tom was using
my name and reputation to try to recruit people into his group. I then
contacted Charles Turley and told him to stop using my name and that once
and for all, I am not a part of his group.

I do not like people who take other peoples credit and passes it off as his
own. This is a sign of an ego out of control. Recently, a game I wrote many
years back called Ultima I for the Apple IIgs appeared on a web site for
download. I was flattered that a review was posted for my old game but I was
not happy it was put up for download. Even though the game was not sold for
over 6 years, does not mean it's public domain. When I asked nicely for the
game and the link to it be removed from the web site, I got a twisted
response. He made accusations to me about being in league with Joe Kohn
(What if I am a friend of his? It has nothing to do with a game of mine
being pirated) and he then went to a public forum effectively saying that he
can do anything he wants.

Well the truth is, he can do anything he wants. He just doesn't make any
friends. This wasn't an Aprils Fools joke. Charles Turley has in the past
been caught giving out software he was told point blank not to distribute.
That was just another way of twisting the truth. He has no morals, scruples
and contradicts himself at every turn. His "joke" is just a way of trying to
avoid the consequences of his actions.

Many good people who would make great contributions to comp.sys.apple2 were
chased away by Charles Turley. His inane banter and silly attempts to start
threads just make people want to throw their hands in the air and say "This
isn't worth my time!".

Charles Turley isn't worth my time. If you really want to make him
disappear, there is only one way to do that.

Just ignore him. From now on, whatever he says falls on deaf ears. Because
only by completely ignoring him, he will finally pack up his marbles (He has
only a few, he lost the rest) and go home as he has promised so many times
in the past.
