I do not have a TW IIe to look at, but you should scan old messages
from the comp.sys.apple2 hierarchy (I saw one in one of the other
csa2 groups rather than the main one some time ago).  I don't know
HOW they did it, but some users have posted doing it.  It may
involve more hacking than upgrading a IIGS accelerator, though.  If
an oscillator is not used, then it means that the TW IIe is deriving its
clocking signal from the slots.
