Re: Apple IIc - CGA/EGA PC conversion box

Like most Apple II systems, the 2c produces color output from the
composite connector. This connector is a RCA style video jack on
the back of the computer. There is also another connector there
for a video expansion/adapter. On my 2c there is an adapter which
is connected here for output to a television set. The television
also requires an RF adapter on it's antenna connector.

I see no reason why you don't have color on your system. Perhaps
it has something to do with the SCART converter. You may try and
connect things without the splitter. Try a direct connection from
the Apple to a VCR with a video in signal connector. Many of the
programs for the Apple are by their nature monochromatic. For
example, any text based application such as Appleworks. Color is
mainly a product of games and graphics oriented software. There
are also graphics programs which are monochrome such as GEOS. Many
of these will produce 'color bleeding' unless they are used on a
monochrome monitor.
