HPLOT from Machine Language

I need to know how to do an HPLOT from machine language. I know how to set
the HCOLOR through machine language (I think) and I know how to jump to
Applesoft's HPLOT subroutine, but what memory locations/registers/etc. do
I need to set up first?

This is to speed up an interesting 9-bit font program. I think doing this
in machine language will also prevent problems when Applesoft's share of
variable memory overflows.
