Apple IIe question

Hi, everyone. A friend just gave me two Apple IIe's because she knows I
like old computers and she was going to throw them out. I very shyly and
humbly admit to you that I have never owned an Apple (cringe, cringe, oh
please don't flame me!) so know nothing about them. I did call the Apple
users' group here in Fresno, and the guy laughed when I asked him if anyone
would want these. He called them dinosaurs. From looking at this
newsgroup, I see that obviously lots of people don't think so. He did
explain that they didn't have a hard drive, though, but booted from whatever
floppy you had in there. So, I beg your indulgence, but if someone could
tell me a good source to get software (the kids would love to play some
little games, for instance) and if these Apples need special care and
feeding, I'd be really grateful. I do love old computers, even though I
have several powerful new ones. There is something charming about the
oldies. My ancient IBM 386, named Junior, is very lovable.

Anyway, I hope you'll forgive a PC person for posting here, but I'd like to
learn about my Apples. Thanks for your help. Malke
