I have one of the Apple IIs with the flush power light (actually a
square white plastic cap over an incandescent bulb in the keyboard, with
the word POWER printed on it in black which has long since rubbed off).
It was bought in 1979, and upgraded by the dealer to a II+ by replacing
the ROM chips (you had a choice when buying it about which ROMS you
wanted).
The case is the usual light beige. The lid is a separate piece of
plastic-metal stuff with solid plastic velcro-like snaps at the left and
right rear to hold it on (pretty stiff to snap it in place), there are
also two metal strip springs next to the velcro to make electrical
grounding contact with the lid.
The keyboard controller board has a switch on it which lets you enable
the control-reset feature (have to hold down control or the reset button
won't work).
There's also a big letter L and R with arrows pointing left and right in
felt marker put there by my dad who couldn't remember the keys to move
left and right in a certain cell based editing program. But I think
that feature is unique to my Apple II :-).
