Disk Images

I've got a DB-9 to DB-9 null modem cable.  Anyone know where I can get a DB-9 to
Apple //c serial port adapter?  Is there a more common name for such a thing,
like a mini-DIN 8 or something?  Did Apple use any kind of standard pin out for
them?

Would one of these work?

As a alternative to running data out over a serial port, would the UNIX command
"dd" work for making disk images?
