Re: Q:How do I burn my own ROM01 for a WOZ GS?
Well, I for one like your style. I have always believed a person
should speak as frankly and openly as possible. I mean, what's
the point in mincing words just to spare someone's feelings. Nine
out of ten times this has the wrong effect anyway and makes it
harder to get the point across.
Of course, this has caused me some grief on occasion. Many people
tend to misread the messages. For some, this is done on purpose.
This way they can agitate the crowd and/or author. Perhaps for
them it's just a game.
Many messages deliver more meanings than just the content of the
text. Yet it can be very difficult to express verbal clues and
body language in a text only medium. Thus it is necessary to
carefully state your thoughts and express your feelings as
precisely as possible.
There are those who simply can't (or won't) read between the
lines and always miss the subtle hints. Of course, they also can't (or
won't) recognize that they are part of the problem and
tend to lash out at others in an effort to build their own
confidence and self esteem.
Now, I'm not pointing fingers at anybody and I want to make this
very clear. We have all fallen into this trap at one time or
another. Because of this, I am trying to spend more time on my
messages instead of just typing the first thing that pops into
my head and clicking send.
I still think we have become a fairly civilized group and I don't
want to take all the fun out of being here. I just hope that more
people will follow my lead and put a little extra time and
thought into their messages. After all, this may be the only way
that we ever meet. I can only hope that I leave you guys with a
good impression of who I am and how I feel about things,
especially my Apple II's. :-)
BTW, I trust that if I start to stray from this, my friends here
will remind me, just as I would remind them. One of the hazards
of an unmoderated system is the requirement of policing ourselves
to ensure the integrity of our messages and this community.
