RamFAST and Audio CDs - HELP!
I've been having problems trying to play audio CDs on my IIgs. I have a
RamFAST board and have downloaded the 1.2 media drivers. I have two CD-ROMs
which I've tried, one is a NEC 6x and the other is a Plextor 32x. The IIgs
is a ROM 1 and the RamFAST is a ROM 3.00l (L...???) Here's what I've done
so far...
Ran the install program to copy Media Device programs and drivers to the
hard drive. Copied both the RF.NEC and RF.SCSI2 files to the correct
directory. Ran Media Device setup through the control pannel. Set a
channel to "Port" RF.NEC or RF.SCSI2 (depending on drive being used), and am
somewhat unsure of the "Device" setting. I have the following:
.CVTECH.S7.C
.CVTECH.S7.D
.DEV2
MODEM
GAMEPORT
The top two seem to be related to the CD-ROM drive, for they were not there
before it was installed. I've tried the top three anyways, but when I
launch the Media Control applet, the system crashes.
Am I doing something wrong? The only thing I can remotely think of is that
my RamFAST ROM is not up to date. I think I read somewhere that it needs to
be 3.01 or better (naturally, I have 3.00l). Seeing that Sequential is
closing their doors, I have not been able to get support from them. If it
is a ROM problem, does anyone have the ability to burn me a newer copy?
HELP!!!
Thanks,
-Keith!
