There was one package called CrossWorks that did this.  It included a
universal Apple to PC cable (interestingly, since the cable also has
a port for the IIGS/IIc Plus, it could be a null modem cable between
a Macintosh and a PC too) which worked with ALL Apple and PC
models.  There was also translation software for converting Apple
data files (such as AppleWorks files) to PC format and back with
formatting intact.
