I learned that the hard way, and being an electronic tech, I'm an expert at
soldering.
The solution is to use a Mac printer cable, cut it in half or cut one end
off, depending if you want to make two or one long cable. Then strip and tin
the wires,
use a continuity checker to note which wire goes to which pin, and solder
the wires to the appropriate connector. I either buy these new or use scrap
parts from PC's. Test it before putting the covers on.
I make Mac modem cables, Imagewriter II to IIc cables, Mac /IIgs to PC and
IIc+ to whatever cables this way.
I was forced into this because I bought 3 Mac modem cables, and it turned
out they weren't wired for handshaking.
